Navigating Major Life Crossroads

Navigating Major Life Crossroads
Life has a way of bringing us to unexpected crossroads.
Sometimes we choose them.
Sometimes they choose us.
Looking back, I've realised that every major chapter of my life began with uncertainty. Leaving the familiar was never easy. Whether it was changing careers, starting a business, or facing personal setbacks, I never had the full picture. More often than not, it felt like walking through a thick fog.
The interesting thing about fog is this: it rarely lets you see the whole journey.
It only lets you see the next few steps.
For many years, I found that frustrating. I wanted certainty. I wanted guarantees. I wanted to know that every decision would work out.
Life doesn't work that way.
Over time, I've learned three lessons that continue to guide me whenever I face a new crossroads.
First, accept that uncertainty is part of every new beginning. Feeling uncomfortable doesn't mean you're making the wrong decision. It often means you're growing beyond what feels familiar.
Second, return to your values. Circumstances will change. People will come and go. Opportunities will appear and disappear. But if you know what truly matters to you, your values become a reliable compass when the road ahead isn't clear.
Third, don't try to solve your entire future today. Just take the next honest step. It might be making a phone call, updating your résumé, starting a conversation, or simply permitting yourself to rest before moving forward.
I've come to believe that clarity doesn't usually arrive before we begin.
It arrives because we begin.
If you're standing at a crossroads today, wondering which path to take, remember this:
You don't have to have everything figured out.
You only need enough courage to take the next step.
And if talking things through with someone helps make that next step a little clearer, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you for part of that journey.
